Big Bend Conservancy is leading enhancements to Sotol Vista Overlook to make it fully accessible for all visitors, featuring an inclusive viewing platform, updated interpretive exhibits, and space for educational programs celebrating the park’s dark skies.

Fossil Discovery Center Maintenance

Big Bend Conservancy supports ongoing care of the Fossil Discovery Exhibit, helping maintain displays, update outdoor signage, and preserve the quality of this open-air museum so visitors can continue to explore Big Bend's remarkable ancient past.

Funded by the James A. “Buddy” Davidson Trails Endowment, Big Bend Conservancy provides lasting support for seasonal crews who maintain and restore the park’s trails, repairing weather damage, improving safety, and creating new routes for exploration.

Big Bend Conservancy is working with Congress and local landowners to expand Big Bend National Park through the purchase of more than 3,000 acres of ecologically and historically significant land along the park’s western boundary.

Castolon District Stabilization

Priority: Ensure Big Bend National Park Remains a model of conservation and efficiency through resource management initiatives.

In partnership with park archaeologists and preservation experts, Big Bend Conservancy is funding the stabilization of the iconic adobe structures of the historic Castolon District, which were damaged by a catastrophic wildfire in 2019.
